Sitting on a wealth of industry knowledge, Roger Ernst brings more than 35 years of industry experience to Ernst Heating and Cooling. The son of original owner, Al Ernst, Roger began working in the family business in the mid-1960s, and came on full time in 1977. It wasn’t until 1991 that Roger took over the family business as president after his father retired.
For the past 20 years, Roger has grown the business to become a true staple in the Edwardsville, Illinois, area. He continues to meet one-on-one to consult with homeowners about upgrading their current systems to high-efficiency systems, to diagnose comfort issues in homes and recommend solutions, and to take advantage of ongoing training and continuing education.
Current memberships include:
- Air Conditioning Contractors of America
- International Ground Source Heat Pump Association
- Indoor Air Quality Association
Roger is an active member in his community, and when he’s not sitting on the board of directors of the Metro-East Lutheran High School, he can be found scouting for old cars.
About Ernst Heating and Cooling
Al Ernst started Ernst Hardware in 1951. The store was filled wall-to-wall with tools, nails, and screws until Al installed his first furnace in 1954; the rest is history. After installing his firsts of air conditioners, heat pumps, and geothermal systems, Ernst Hardware officially became known as Ernst Heating and Cooling, and now also offers zoning, solar PV, and mini-splits to residential customers and light commercial customers upon request.
Ernst’s top five services include:
- Emergency service
- Precision tune-ups
- Retro-fit installations
- New construction installations
- Energy assessment
Now run by Al’s son, Roger, Ernst Heating and Cooling continues to be an industry leader with a true focus on customer satisfaction. They pride themselves on open communication with customers to discuss ways to lower their monthly utilities, look at the whole house as a system when diagnosing comfort issues, and think outside the box when it comes to comfort solutions. With a third generation Ernst on board now, it’s easy to assume Ernst Heating and Cooling’s legacy will live on in the Metro-East area.
